Interdisciplinary Writing and Rhetoric

Everytime someone asks me who I am as a person, I like to start off by saying that I was
raised on a farm, because it has defined who I have become as a person-hard working,
dedicated, and loyal. In my opinion, there are few problems that cannot be solved by more time
and hard work. Having an agricultural background has shaped the person I am today. I was a
4-H member for 9 years and an avid FFA member for 4 years. As a person, perhaps the most
important thing in life is making connections with people, whether it is family, friends, employers,
or simply acquaintances. People take notice of what you do, even if you don’t notice them
watching. That being said, I find it advantageous to be kind and to put your best foot forward as
a human.
Currently, I am working towards an Integrative studies degree with a concentration in
Health Studies and Writing and Rhetoric. In terms of the future, the closet goal I have is
graduating with a Bachelor of Science next spring. After that, I plan on applying to nursing
programs and joining a program in the Eastern Oregon region in the fall of 2020.Ultimately, my
goal is to receive an Associate nursing degree and work as an ER nurse in the future. I hope to
achieve these goals by putting my best foot forward, always working to the best of my abilities
and never forgetting my roots in agriculture.
