Sorbenots
Friendship and Community
Something about myself that a lot of people probably relate to is coffee. Yes, coffee. Not only am I an avid morning coffee drinker, also work as a barista at Sorbenots Coffee. I first began working at Sorbenots in June of 2018 when I moved to La Grande to finish my Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Oregon University. What originally started out as a part-time job soon became a community to me. After only a short couple of months, the girls that were originally just coworkers became a supportive friend group. Not only did I gain some great friends, I learned how to mix specialty drinks and multitask. Working with friends to create specific espresso drinks in a time-sensitive environment proved to be a challenging but extremely rewarding job. Over time I developed relationships with members of the community including University professors, business owners and peers. Being employed at Sorbenots has been an amazing learning curve and unique opportunity to serve my community.
